The Tennessee Corrections Institute recently selected Captain David Lance as Jail Administrator of the Year for jails in population sizes equivalent to Grundy County. The award was presented April 4, in Franklin, at the annual jail issues conference. Captain Lance was accompanied by his wife Amanda, Sheriff Clint Shrum, and his staff. “This is a remarkable accomplishment for David and the entire county. Bringing a jail that hasn’t been certified in 26 years to now being recognized on a statewide level is huge task,” remarked Shrum. The Sheriff said he was particularly proud of the teamwork put together by the entire staff to make this jail operational and certified.
