Leslie Kennedy was born about 1825, in Quilley, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
He interested investors in the coal in the area and the railroad was built up the mountain to move the coal. The company later became the T.C.I. Division of U.S. Steel. Leslie Kennedy was attempting to move his family to Birmingham, Alabama, when he became sick. He came home to Sewanee, Tenn., on the train and passed away on June 30, 1875.
Daniel Edmound Conry was born October 19, 1827, in County Roscommon, Ireland. He passed away in 1894, in Pelham, Grundy County, TN.
