The Jackets have been up and down in the past week splitting the six games they’ve played. They moved to 12-6 on the season and are 1-1 in the district.
Coach Chase Jones was most disappointed in Monday’s district loss to Sequatchie County.
“Tonight’s game is one of those that is hard to swallow. We scored four runs in the top of the second and had numerous opportunities to score in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth. We something like 14 base runners stranded. Chandler Knight pitched a heck of a game and just ran out of gas in the fifth. Games like this are absolutely gut wrenching but we also will be able to see what type of perseverance and character we have.
We play these guys again tomorrow and if we are feeling sorry for ourselves they are going to take another one from us. I am excited to see how we come out and play tomorrow. Tuesday’s game is a type of game that helps define what kind of team we have. I think I know but we get to find out tomorrow,” said Jones after Monday’s loss.
Tuesday the Jackets hosted Sequatchie County. Today they travel to White County for a 5:00 start. Saturday they host Shelbyville at 2:00 with a JV game starting at noon. Monday they host Chattanooga Christian at 5:30 in district play. Tuesday they travel to CCS for a 4:00 Central time start. Get out and support the Yellow Jackets this week Yellow Jacket fans!
