A community awareness event will be held on Sunday, May 4, at 5:00 p.m. at the Grundy County High School gym. The goal for the gathering is to continue to show the unity and commitment for all the students of Grundy County.
“I pray that this event surpasses the one we held on Sunday, August 25, 2013,” stated event organizer, Grundy County High School Principal Amanda Lance. “For our school and community to be great, we first need to come together in unity and be willing to take part in the transformation. Please show your support by asking your community and church to attend this event.”
The program includes Grundy County principals who will recap the school year, new information on the new Rain Center for teenagers, and speaker Judge Trey Anderson.
“By coming, you are showing that we are putting all of our differences aside and becoming a unified front for Grundy County Schools as we join together to help ‘stand in the gap and make up a hedge’ for our students as they begin TCAP and EOC state testing, helping shine a beacon of light and hope for those facing life’s struggles and obstacles, showing the importance of family, community, church, and school support and involvement in students’ lives, and that prayer is needful, important, and it works,” encouraged Principal Lance.
