GCHS Bass Team Finishes Saturday

The GCHS Bass Team will hit the waters again Saturday for Yamaha’s Top 25 Championship of the Southeast TN B.A.S.S. High School Trail on Lake Guntersville out of the ramp at the dam in Jasper. Only the top 25 in points for the trail series have made the event. Nine of Grundy’s 12 boats are qualified and will fish. Weigh in will be at 3 p.m. Teams will be fighting

  • Grundy Baseball to Host Skills Camp

      Grundy Baseball will host skills camps this summer for youth baseball players ages 5 through 13. There will be a throwing, fielding and base running camp June 1-3. On June 8-10, they will host a pitching or catching camp. On June 15-17, they will host a hitting camp. All camps will run from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and be held at the Grundy County High School baseball field.

  • Bass Team Members Qualify For National Championship

    Three of the 12 boats of the GCHS Bass Team have qualified for the B.A.S.S. High School National Championship in July one Kentucky Lake. The teams of Cole Stewart and Josh Powers, Kyle Ingleburger and Kyle Palmer, and Eldon Posey and Samuel Morgan will represent Grundy County in the nationals.

      College Baseball Tennessee Temple - The Tennessee Temple Crusaders wrapped up their season finishing fifth in the USCAA Small College World Series. This was not only the end of their season, but the end of Tennessee Temple as a college.     Grant Dees finished second Sunday in the National Bass Fishing Trail’s tournament on Guntersville Lake in the Junior division. In only his second weekend tournament fishing, Dees turned in 4 fish for 7.94 pounds and placed ahead of the current NBT Junior National Champion and the current Junior National points leader.     The GCHS Bass Team won the Nickajack Challenge Saturday in Jasper. Samuel Morgan and Eldon Posey came in first with five fish for 14.03 pounds to take the title for the school. The win qualified the two to go to the B.A.S.S. High School Nationals in July on Kentucky Lake. They are the third of the GCHS teams to qualify for the event. They also won two $500 scholarships to
