John David Dickerson finished in eighth place out of 192 runners, earning a medal ranking at the Mid-State Cross Country Association Championship on Saturday, October 11. John David is the son of David and Karen Dickerson of Altamont.

    The Grundy County High School bass fishing team registered a big win Saturday in the tournament they hosted on Nickajack Lake along with B.A.S.S High School and the Tennessee BASS Nation. Grundy’s Garrett Whitman and Ben Franklin registered their first tournament win over a field of 21 boats from schools from Whitwell, South Pittsburg, Warren County, Gordon Lee and Murfreesboro Central Magnet School.     The Junior Jackets travel to Jasper Thursday night to take on Jasper Middle at the high school. Kickoff is set for 6:00 pm and the Grundy program hopes to notch their sixth win of the season.
