Taking the Herald Along for the Ride

Country music star Phil Vassar “took the Grundy County Herald along” when he did a benefit for the Miller Home for Girls in Lynchburg, Virginia, a home for girls ages four through twenty-one. Vassar performed several of his popular hits including his new release “Love is Alive.” Also pictured is Vassar’s drummer, GCHS graduate Jake Caldwell.   • Youth Group To Sing For President Carter

    Youth group to sing

    The Mt. Ararat Cumberland Methodist Youth Group have been invited to sing at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia on September 29. President Jimmy Carter will be teaching Sunday school that morning and the group will be singing at the eleven o’clock service.
