Hunter Maynor is a junior at Soddy Daisy High School and is the school’s starting quarterback this season. In his first start for the Trojans, he threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns, leading the way for a 25-7 win over rival Hixson. Hunter not only excels in football but is the starting pitcher for the high school baseball team and earned a state championship wrestling ring his freshman year

  • Grundy Lakes Fishing Rodeo

    On June 8, Myer’s Hill First Congregational Methodist Church, South Cumberland State Park, and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency hosted the annual Grundy Lakes Fishing Rodeo at Grundy Lakes State Park. The rodeo lasted from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We had a great turnout for the event this year with 403 people registered for the event. Of those 403 people, 231 of them were young folks, ages 15 and under.

      On Saturday, June 8, Myer’s Hill First Congregational Methodist Church, South Cumberland State Park, and TWRA will be hosting a Free Fishing Day Fishing Rodeo from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (Rain or Shine) at Grundy Lakes in Tracy City.     Frank Emmett Clay coached baseball at Grundy County High School from 1971 to 1982. After assisting coach Ed Cantrell in 1971, Coach Clay assumed the head coaching duties in 1972. His teams posted consistent winning records, despite the fact that for much of his tenure baseball had no classification.
