The Nineteenth Annual St. Jude Softball Tournament has been set for June 21 and 22 at the Volunteer Park in Gruetli-Laager. The Lady Jackets really turned up the heat as tournament time arrived and almost fought their way into the region tournament. They came up one game short falling in the finals of the losers’ bracket of the District 7AA tourney. A win would have pitted them against Bledsoe County and given them a guaranteed game in the region tourney. The Lady Jackets finished the season with an 11-18 overall
The Lady Jackets remain alive in the District 7AA tournament as play in the tourney has been delayed due to the flooding rains over the weekend. Games for Saturday and Monday were washed out and play was set to resume Tuesday with Grundy facing off against Signal Mountain. The Lady Jackets have already handily beaten Signal twice this season.
