NEW LAW PRACTICE OPENS IN ALTAMONT
On March 1, Russell S. Mainord, who resides in Gruetli-Laager with his wife, Dottie, and their two young daughters, opened a new law practice in Altamont. Serving the general public in its legal needs, Russell takes cases ranging from criminal to family to property.
“Throughout my life I have been able to accomplish a great deal. Each of my accomplishments is due to a strong family and community supporting me. I am proud to say that I am from Grundy County and I have long sought the opportunity to come back home and give back to the community that has given so much to me,” stated Russell.
Russell, a lifelong Grundy Countian, graduated from Grundy County High School in 1997 in the top ten percent of his class. After graduating from GCHS, Russell attended the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, where he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in American History. While at Sewanee, he worked as student equipment manager of the football program, served in the student government, and was a member of the Order of Gownsmen Honor Society. During his tenure at the University he also worked with the Tennessee Titans football team as an equipment intern.
Before Russell decided to continue his education at the University of South Carolina, he served as a columnist and news editor for the Grundy County Herald. While earning a Master’s Degree in Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management at the University of South Carolina, Russell was honored to work as a graduate assistant in equipment with the Gamecocks football team under head coach Lou Holtz.
Once again, Russell returned to his beloved hometown, unsure of what his future would hold. He accepted a position teaching marketing classes and coaching volleyball at the Grundy County High School. After a year of teaching, Russell decided to reach for his lifelong goal of becoming a lawyer. He enrolled at the Cecil C. Humphries’ School of Law at the University of Memphis, where he graduated in 2008. While in law school, he was awarded the Dean’s Award of Excellence for Best Oral Advocate. He was also chosen for a Humphries’ Fellowship.
Russell began his career as an attorney with The Frager Law Firm, P.C. in Memphis, Tennessee after becoming licensed in 2008. He quickly became a department head with the firm and in August of 2011 moved back to Grundy County, where he commuted to Chattanooga to open and operate a branch office for The Frager Law Firm, P.C. In 2012, the office became known as Frager Kliner, P.L.L.C., where Russell served as the senior associate attorney.
Russell left the office at the end of February 2014 to open his own private practice in Altamont. He is glad to be home serving the people of his community, Grundy County, Tennessee and the surrounding area. If you have legal needs, call him at 931-692-8472 to schedule a free consultation.
