GCHS Students Develop

The Grundy County High School Vocational Agriculture students, with assistance from Mike Cordell owner of Cumberland Mountain Conifers, have added several shade trees to the Outdoor Classroom site at the school. Mr. Cordell provided the trees and demonstrated the use of specialized nursery equipment to move the trees. Students were taught how to set the trees properly and gained “hands on” experience. The large trees, donated by Cumberland Mountain Conifers, will provide shade for activities such as the annual Farm Day for Grundy third grade students. Little River Nursery has also donated trees and shrubs, which were also planted by the Grundy Agriculture Business Council at the Outdoor Classroom site. All of the donations and work by volunteers to support the Agriculture Education program at Grundy County High School are greatly appreciated.
