Altamont Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day
To celebrate a wee bit in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the City of Altamont will be having an Irish (Mulligan) stew supper on Saturday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Altamont Community Center. There will be hot tasty Irish stew full of good hearty beef and vegetables, lovely cakes, and pies prepared by the darling hands of sweet volunteers and plenty of soft drinks and water.
Test the luck ‘o the Irish by participating in an old-fashioned cakewalk with some Grundy County candidates providing the prizes.
All this for only a few shillings! Advance tickets are $6 or families of four or more for $18. At the door tickets will be $7 and family tickets for $20. For tickets, call Jana Barrett at 692-3879, Angie Burnett at 467-3263, or De Etta Rather at 692-3364. You can also see Penny Sons and Cyndi Whitman.
So come one, come all and celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with food, friends, and fun! Proceeds will help fund this year’s Fanny Moffitt Autumn Stomp.
