HENKE, HELEN, M., of Coalmont, TN, passed away September 29, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Henke; daughters, Toni White-Collins (Don) of FL; Susan Decker of TN; three grandchildren, Stormy Tidmore (Jennifer) of IL; Rick and Stephanie Decker, both of Coalmont, TN; one great grandchild, Dylan Tidmore; sister, Gladys Pogliano (Melvin) of IL; brother, Phil Hood (Esther) of LA. ELDRIDGE, CARLENE, HAYNES, age 85, of Tracy City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord October 7, 2013 at Southern Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, TN. She was the oldest member of Myers Hill First Congregational Methodist Church and loved to sing and was part of the Haynes Trio for many years. She was preceded in death by parents Vernon and Edith Haynes; son, Stephen Wayne Eldridge; granddaughter, Crystal Stevens Nunley; brothers, Gene, James, Don, Randall, Charles, Perry, and Terry Haynes; grandparents, Carl and Martha Haynes. Survivors include her loving husband, Mr. Herschel Eldridge; children, Roger (Kathy) Eldridge of Gruetli-Laager, and Kay (Bill) Griffith of Tracy City; brothers, Kenneth (Ann) Haynes, Larry (Mary) Haynes, all of Tracy City and Gary (Charlotte) Haynes of Monteagle; grandchildren, Wayne (Samantha) Stevens, Paula Clay, Stevie (Marie) Eldridge, Candace (Shawn) Simmons, and Tiffany Eldridge; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was loved by all who knew her. Services were held Thursday, October 10 at Myers Hill First Congregational Methodist Church with Brother Dennis Rollins and Brother Freddie Savage officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery with pallbearers Ralph Casey, Bobby Winton, Dewayne Sartin, Mike Jordan, John Curtis, Tim Orange, Ricky Layne, and Kurt Stiefel and Honorary pallbearers Eli Eldridge, Tanner Eldridge, Chase Stevens, Wayne Stevens, Travis Scott, Steve Eldridge, and Wendell Stiefel. BURNETT, BILLY, GARNER, age 77, of Monteagle, Tennessee, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 in Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, TN. He was a native of Pelham and was a son of the late Willie E. Burnett and Johnnie Vera Patton Burnett. He was a retired truck driver and was a devoted University of Tennessee “Big Orange” football fan. Survivors include three sons, Nelson (Sue) Burnett of Homewood, IL; Billy Jr. Burnette and Bobby Lee Burnette of TN; two daughters, Johnnie Mae Burnette and Melody Burnette, both of TN; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ethel Jones; and a nephew Jeff Magourk. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 10 in the funeral home chapel with Reverend De Hennessy officiating. Burial was in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Pelham. MILLER, RANDALL, “RANDY,” M., age 57, of Pelham, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center with his family by his side. He was employed by Nashville Ready Mix in Murfreesboro prior to his illness. As a young man, he served for 4 years in the United States Marine Corps and later served his community as Assistant Chief of the Pelham Fire Department for several years. Randy was of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed spending time with family and friends and golfing. He was born in Chattanooga, TN on June 21, 1956 to his parents, Don Miller who survives and the late Shirley Roark Miller. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by fathers-in-law, Willis Parks and Larry Haynes. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Doris Parks Miller of Pelham, TN; sons, Josh Miller of Murfreesboro, TN and Jonathan Miller of Pelham, TN; daughter, Melissa Miller of Otis Orchard, Washington; father, Don (Louise) Miller of Manchester, TN; brother, Eddie (Mary) Miller of Estill Springs, TN; sister, Stacy Anderson Miller of Memphis, TN; step-brothers, Ted (Stacy) Lester and Brian (Kassi) Lester of Manchester, TN; mother-in-law, Martha Haynes of Pelham, TN and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 13 from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Brett Meeks officiating. SHIPLEY, JESSIE, P., “J.P.,” 68, of the Cagle Community died at his home Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was the owner of Shipley Coal Company and was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on December 8, 1944. He was preceded in death by his father, Jess Shipley; brother, Leroy “Gabby” Shipley. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Layne Shipley; son, Jesse Shipley; daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Magouirk and Autumn (John) Higdon; brothers, Bradley (Vicki), Darwin (Carolyn), Bill (Paula) and Drew Shipley; sisters, Sue (Joe) Narramore, Annette (Rick) Rollins, Clema (Bobby) Richardson, Tammy Shipley and Jean Hennessee; Caregiver and friend, Diane Shipley; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
