BEETCH, DOROTHY, MAE, age 88, formally of Batesville, Arkansas passed away September 3, 2013 at Southern Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, TN. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a former model and loved to dance. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Beetch and her parents John William Roeder and Murtle Irene Donham Roeder. Survivors include her children Marsha (Gene) Lawson and Michael Beetch; grandchildren Steve (Sue) Lawson, Carrie (Jeff) Burnette, and Marie Lawson; great grandchildren Kaila and Cameron Elsea. WILHELM, MAE, KING, THOMAS, age 87, of Estill Springs, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, suddenly at Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee, TN. She was well known for her life-long work researching genealogy for families that requested her assistance. She wrote and published several books about many of the families in Grundy and Franklin Counties. She was an avid gardener and grew many varieties of flowers and fruit trees. She was preceded in death by her son, James C. “J.C.” Thomas, Jr. and her husband, Paul Wilhelm. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Betty Thomas of Monteagle, TN, grandchildren; Sonja Hornbuckle of Gruetli Laager, TN, Greg Thomas of Monteagle, TN and Ronnie Thomas of Manchester, TN, and six great grandchildren. It was her request that she be cremated with no services held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grundy County Historical Society. SWEETON, ED, WILSON, age 84, of Tracy City, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his home. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee, a son of the late Albert Sweeton and Alice Mae Sanders Sweeton and was preceded in death by his brothers, Nelson and his wife, Ella Mae, Delbert Sweeton; sister, Betty Rogers, Rosa Nell Scissom and her husband, Tommy; brother-on-law, Richard Smith; sister-in-law, Ruth Sweeton; a grandchild and a great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Ruth, who passed away on December 9, 2006. He had worked for many years at Tyson Foods before retiring. He was known in the community as a hard-working man who loved to raise his garden. He helped many people in many ways during his life. He was a longtime member of Tracy City First Baptist Church. Survivors include his children, Eddie Marie (Wayne) Curtis, Julia (Chris) Rogers, both of Tracy City; brothers, Alton Sweeton, Mt. Juliet, Wayne (Bobbie) Sweeton, Whitwell, Daymond (Nancy) Sweeton, Cartwright, TN; brother-in-law, James Rogers; sister, Kathleen Smith, Whitwell; sister-in-law, Regina Sweeton; grandchildren, Ben (Mandy) Curtis, Dustin (April) Curtis, Caitlin Rogers; great grandchildren, Ethan, Lydia and soon to arrive, Emmaline Curtis; several nieces and nephews. BOULDIN, RALPH, of McMinnville, TN, died Sunday, September 8, 2013. Before his retirement, he was employed as Chief Electrician by the Carrier Corporation. He was born December 12, 1933 in Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee to Leander and Anna Schild Bouldin who preceded him in death along with several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his brother, James and wife Jane of Signal Mountain, TN and sister, Sara B. Grooms of Thomasville, GA. Burial was in Swiss Colony Cemetery on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Tate; sister, Celina Stevens; grandparents, Thurman and Ruth Tate; niece, Kayla Brooke Lafever; and nephew, Zackery Earl Hill.
