The Annual Mountaineer’s Day Festival will be held in downtown Tracy City on Saturday, September 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 15 starting at 11:00 a.m. with hillbilly church.
On Saturday, there will be fun and games for everyone including a horseshoe contest, toilet seat toss, egg toss, sack races, red race, greasy pig contest, hula hoop and jump rope contest, dancing, and great food. Live entertainment will be by the Hard Times Band.
Also on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., the Mountain Prince and Princess Pageant will be held at Tracy City Elementary School at 10:00 a.m. with an entry fee of $10 and general admission fee of $2. If you would like to enter the pageant or need more information, call Lynn at 931-235-1809 or 931-592-8380.
On Sunday, there will be hillbilly church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a pedal tractor pull at 1:00 p.m. and a flag ceremony at 3:00 p.m. All vendors for the festival are welcome by calling 931-235-1513. Also check out www.mhpstn.org.
The Fiery Gizzard Sportman’s Club will also be selling plates at the Festival on September 14. The plates will contain smoked pork, baked beans, slaw, rolls, and a dessert. Cost of the plates will be $6 each and may be picked up at either the Mountaineer Day site or at the clubhouse beginning at noon. Members are encouraged to help in preparing and serving the food. Tickets for plates are available through the members.
