SITZ, CARL, HOUSTON, age 69, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was a retired logger and a member of Mt. Calvary Apostolic Church. Born October 6, 1943, he was a son of the late James Sitz and Thelma Coppinger Sitz and was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Sitz; step-son, Jim Manley. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Fredrick Sitz; children, Houston (Susan) Sitz, Jeremy Sitz, Valerie (Keith) Smith, Wanda (Wayne) Anderson, Joanna Sitz; step-son, Randy Cox; brother, Gerald Sitz; sisters, Marie Merrell, Glenda Childers, Phyllis Carrick; grandchildren, Cody, Daimeon, Morgan, Kaeden, Isabella, Madison, and Gracelyn; great grandchild, Kimberly; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, May 10 in the funeral home chapel with Elder Franklin Hill and Reverend Mickey Hill officiating. Burial was in Meeks Family Cemetery in Flat Branch. CUSTER, MAGGIE, MAE, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, age 79, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Maggie was born in Tracy City, Tennessee on October 7, 1933 and was a resident of Grand Blanc, MI most of her life. She married George Custer on July 29, 1953 in Mt. Morris, MI and they were married for 44 years before his death in 1998. Her passion was playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters, Rose and Jane. Survivors include daughter, Carrie and husband Randy Springer of Grand Blanc, MI and their grandson, Matt (Sarah); great grandchildren Addison and Casey; son, Aaron and wife Judy of Goodrich, MI and their grandsons, Aaron (Tabitha), David and Jake; great grandchildren, Milana and Makara; sisters, Marie, Daris, Brenda, and Opal; brothers, Stanley, Denver, Carl and Rick; a special thank you to her caregiver, Randy Evans. MASON, JERRY, Q., age 80, of Monteagle, Tennessee, passed away at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Cleveland, TN to the late Walter Scott and Flora Mae Garner Mason and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Mason was employed for almost thirty-five years as manager for different bowling alleys. He was employed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department as dispatcher for approximately twenty-one years before retiring and was a charter member of the FOP. He was happiest when he was with his family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Rogers. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Elsie “Sally” Tate Mason of Monteagle; son, Michael Mason of Monteagle; daughters, Carla (Robert) Chilson of Lupton City, TN, Rebecca (Ben) Hill of Hillsboro, TN; brothers, Willis (Geraldine) Mason of Delrose, TN, Donald Mason of Florida, Larry (Kim) Mason of Bell Buckle, TN; sisters; Faye (Bob) Bolton of Ala., Elizabeth (Roger) Mullins of Taft, TN, Linda Blue of Smyrna; three grandchildren, Rebekah Buchanan, James Buchanan and Aaron (Sara) Buchanan; three great grandchildren, Caitlynn Buchanan, Jamie Buchanan, Jason Buchanan; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. COLLINS, JENNIFER, RAE, age 40, of Sewanee, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She also had a passion for horses and excelled in horsemanship at a very early age. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Dick and Mignone Graves. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband Joey Jackson of Sewanee; daughter, Brandy Collins of Palmer; sons, Nickolas Jackson and Trenton Collins, both of Sewanee; parents, Bobbie (Sandy) Gilliam and James Ray Collins, all of Sewanee; grandchildren, Kaylee and Kegan Morrison of Palmer; sister, Heather (Michael) Hamilton of Huntland; grandparents Joe and Ventress Yokley of Winchester; special uncle Chad (Tonya) Graves of Sewanee; nieces Lillianna and Caylie Ann Ocheltree of Huntland; and a host of other family and friends.
