She is preceded in death by her husband, James Byers; parents, George P. and Willie Ann Reid Anderson. Survivors include her sons, John D. (Karen) Cockrell, Yulee, FL; Jimmy W. Byers, Tracy City, TN; daughters, Lena M. (Randy) Braden, Tracy City, TN; Pat (Bill) Johnson, Tracy City, TN; Susan (Mike) Settle, South Point, Ohio; brother, George Anderson, Hertford, NC; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 31 in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Barry Nolan and Reverend Bobby Winton. Burial was in Plainview Cemetery. DYKES, SUSIE, LOCKHART, age 77, of Tracy city, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Emerald Hodgson Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Melton and Irene Lockhart and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie; sons, Ronald and Ricky Dykes; grandson, Chad Dykes. Survivors include her son, Lewis Dykes; grandchildren, Melanie, Christy, Reagan, Brittani; great grandchildren, Noah and Elizabeth. SHRUM, CHARLES, EDWARD, 77, of Dunlap, TN died Thursday, January 31, 2013 in a local hospital. He was the son of the late Walden Moses and Mabel Nolan Shrum and was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Shrum. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Merrell Shrum, of Dunlap, TN; daughters, Beverly Sue Maples, of Knoxville, TN and Lisa Martin of South Pittsburg, TN; sons, Josh Shrum of Whitwell, TN, Jeff Shrum, of Dunlap, TN and Harold Shrum, of Tracy City, TN; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Shrum, of Detroit, MI and Vernon Hayes, of Tracy City, TN. Graveside services were held at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN on Sunday, February 3 with Rev. Arland Welden officiating. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Allen, Betty Morrison and Beverly (Richard) Wyse; sisters, Allie Jean “Shorty” Sanders and Charlene Roberts; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; loving nieces and nephews. WINTON, RUBY, ELIZABETH, 86, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013. She was retired from Bell South Telephone and had lived in Kodak, Tennessee until moving to Gruetli-Laager due to her health. She was a member of the French Broad Valley Baptist Church, The Pioneers Telephone Operators Union and the Bluebird Cancer Society. She was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on February 3, 1927 to Wilson and Lydia Scruggs Crabtree who preceded her in death along with her husband, Jim Winton; sister, Sue Brown; brother, Tommy Crabtree. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Tony) King; sisters, Alma Woodlee and Violet Anderson; grandchildren, Joey (Nadene) King, Beth (Kelly) Myers, Bobby (Holly) King, Lorrie (Jamie) Meeks and Jill (Nathan) Myers; great grandchildren, Joseph and Tyler Shrum, Annie King, Nathanael and Eli Myers, Lily and Amelia Meeks; loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7 in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Tony and Bobby King officiating with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery.
