Deadline for Big 8 results to be turned in to the Grundy County Herald is noon on Mondays. All names are spelled as turned in on the score sheets. If your school’s results are not listed it is because they have not turned in their results to the Herald. Scorekeepers please fill out all areas of the score sheet including quarter-by-quarter score and first and last names of players. Only results with full names players from both teams and their scoring and stats will be published.
Any team needing Big 8 Report stat sheets used to turn in results can get them by emailing David Lowrie at dlowrie@blomand.net or by picking them up at the Grundy County Herald office.
Girls: North 31 – Palmer 0
The Lady Warriors shut out the Lady Bulldogs in the opening game of the 5th and 6th action December 8. Taylor Meeks led North with eight points. Leah Hiett, Emma Seagroves and Sara Barrett had four each. Erica Childers tossed in three. Brianna Gawrys, Destiny McGee, MaKayla Kirby and Jillian Meeks scored two each.
Swiss 23 – Pelham 6
The Lady Wildcats proved to be tough again and downed the Lady Tigers by 17. Bailey Baker led Swiss with eight points. Peyton Mainord and Caitlyn Crabtree scored four each. Katelynn Smith, Michelle McDaniel and Hannah Schild scored two each. Regan Meeks added one. Meleah Stevens led Pelham with four. Kearstin Brown scored two points.
Tracy 24 – Monteagle 10
The Lady Eagles opened with an 8-0 first quarter and rolled on to the win over the Lady Hornets. Morgan Meeks led Tracy with eight points. Faith Coffelt followed with six. Latrice Anderson and Rachel Shrum scored four each. Katlin Bush added two. Kara Nunley led the way for Monteagle with four points. Ashley Green, Belle Jones and Zoey Harrison scored two each.
Boys: Palmer 45 – North 9
The Bulldogs were just too much for the Warriors in this one. Jacob Peoples led Palmer with 18 points. Ben Freeman followed with 10. J.P. Sanders scored nine. Lukas Borne, Dillion James and Bryson Braden scored two each. Nathanael Myers led North with three points. Lucas Woodlee, Robbie Fults and Josh Underwood scored two points each.
Swiss 57 – Pelham 10
The Wildcats rolled over the Tigers. Kollyn Cooper led Swiss with 19 points. Ethan Nunley had 10. Jordan Hackworth tossed in eight. Nathan Coffelt had seven. Evan Nunley and Chris Nance scored four each. Daniel Green and Thaddeus Blackburn had two each. Jacob Shrum added one. Hunter Bellew led Pelham with four points. Hunter Northcutt, Jaden Sanders and Bailey Hill scored two points each.
Tracy 37 – Monteagle 9
The eagles finished off the day of the big boys’ wins downing the Hornets. Jonnie Adkins led Tracy City with 16 points. Eli Tipton scored nine. Grayson Lawson had eight. Kase Johnson and Zack Lovelace scored two each. Hunter Sylvester led Monteagle with four points. Jaten Sheer scored three. Kyle Underhill tossed in two points.
