GCHS Class Of 1962 Contributes To Grundy Education

Following their fiftieth year class reunion on October 13, 2012, the GCHS Class of 1962 determined to make two contributions to education in Grundy County. The first contribution in the amount of $500 was given to the Margaret Shook Foster Scholarship Fund for assisting special education students with post high school studies. The second contribution also in the amount of $500 was made to the Grundy County High School Athletic Department. Buford Newsome and Larry Haynes acting on behalf of the reunion committee and the Class of 1962 presented the contributions to Margaret Elaine Andrews and Melody Nunley for special education and to Jamie Ruehling for Grundy County High School Athletics. Members of the Class of 62 hold dear the experiences and values learned while growing up in Grundy County. It is their hope that others will be inspired to recognize and support the uniqueness of this area, which is not common to so many other regions of this state and nation.
