BRADEN, MICHEAL, A., 48, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012. He was born in Palmer on July 25, 1964 and is survived by his wife Carla Burnett Braden; daughter, Erica (Derek) Rankin; mother, Margie Braden; father, Roy Braden; brothers, Mitchell and Roger Braden; sister, Teresa (Kevin) Schwarz; loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, November 30 in the funeral home chapel with Ministers John Potts and Joe Sanders officiating. Burial was in Fall Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

GRIMES, BEATRICE, LECROY, 90, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012. She was a member of the Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Dunlap and had attended Westside Baptist Church in Gruetli-Laager for many years. She was a founding member of the Gruetli-Laager Senior Citizens Center. She was born in Jasper, Tennessee on June 16, 1922 to Rev. Thomas and Ethel Morrison LeCroy who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Edward Grimes; son, James Allen Grimes; brother, Duke LeCroy; sisters, Dovie Dill and Lorene Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Doug) Williams of Christiana, TN; son, Dale (Marcella) Grimes of Harrison, TN; daughter-in-law, Sydney Grimes Durham, Whitwell, TN; grandchildren, Vanessa (Melvin) Raulston, Teresa (Buddy) Smith, Elizabeth and Rachel Layne, Rebekah (Rob) Williams, Jeffrey (Allison) Seay, Tonya (Shane) Sullivan, Stephen and Kimberly Williams; 15 great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, December 3 in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Terry LeCroy and Lanny Tate officiating. Burial was in Fall Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

RICHARDSON, EVELYN, FAYE, 74, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 30, 2012. She was born in Altamont, Tennessee on April 27, 1938 to Herman and Mae Fults McGee who preceded her in death along with her sisters, Wilene Nelson and Lucille McGee. She is survived by her husband, George Franklin Richardson; son, Jimmy (Kathy) Richardson; sisters, Thelma Woodlee, Edith (George) Huntley, Melba Huntley and Linda McGee; brothers, Alton, Waymon (Mamie) and Loyd (Ruth) McGee; grandchildren, Dewayne (Amanda) and Bradley Richardson; great grandson, Andrew Richardson several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 2 in the funeral home chapel with Jay Richardson and Dal Barrett officiating. Burial was in Fults Cemetery. MILLER, SELMA, MARIE, 89, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012. She was born in Northumberland County, Virginia on July 23, 1923. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Marie Bramble Warwick; brother, William Carrington Bramble; grandson, Robert Drewry and other half brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Faye (Ron) Drewry, The Villages, FL; sons, William Allen (Cathy) Lewis, Stuart, FL and Michael Wayne (Luann) Baum, Coalmont; grandchildren, Megan, Jacob and Bridgette Baum, David and Rhonda Drewry, Jeff, Andy and Christina Lewis; great grandchildren, Rebecca Evans, James and Bryant Thomas, Jace Baum; great-great grandchildren, Gabriel, Haley, Annie and Cayden. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 2 in the funeral home chapel conducted by the family with cremation to follow.  Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

COPE, JOHNNIE, CAREL, “COTTON,” age 83, of the Midway community near Sewanee, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, in Erlanger Medical Center from complications of stroke. He was born in Alabama on July 10, 1929, a son of the late Tom O. Cope and Bertha Mae Smith Cope. He had worked many years at Monteagle Silo and was preceded in death by brothers, Wes, Jess, Gibb, Roy and Jack Sargent; sisters, Bess, Allie and Phenie; son, Charles Cope; grandson, Charles Tant. Survivors include his wife, Sara “Lib” Cope; children, Carolyn (Jerry) Nunley, Sewanee; Connie Reavis, Decherd; Chuck (Beverly) Cope, Decherd; and Celena (Mark) Green, Sewanee; brother, Joe Sargent, Monteagle; sister, Lucille Neeley, Nashville; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his “special” dog, Sugar. TERRILL, MICHAEL, TROY, age 49, of Monteagle went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2012. He worked at American Airlines for over 20 years and was very fortunate to be able to travel the world from one side to the other with adventures that he cherished during his long illness. He was preceded in death by his father Jack Terrill; nephew Skyler Brandon Terrill; aunt Catherine Guyear; paternal grandparents JD (Peck) and Ina Terrill; maternal grandparents Joe Bud and Ruth Long. Survivors include his mother Lucille Terrill of Monteagle; brother and sister-in-law Ronald M. and Sandra Terrill also of Monteagle; sister Tennie Jane Smotherman of Manchester; three nephews Jason Smotherman of Indiana; Jeremy Smotherman of Manchester; Adam Terrill of Athen, TN; niece Jamie Marie Smotherman of South Carolina; a very special aunt Ruth (Goggle) Green of Cowan; uncle Joe B. Long of Monteagle; aunt Lula Bell Johnson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee with a releasing of the doves ceremony. MEEKS, JAMES, age 85, of Chardon, Ohio, died November 28, 2012 at his home. Born January 21, 1927 in Grundy County, TN to Norman and Elizabeth Meeks, he has been a longtime area resident. He was a tool and die maker for General Motors and after retirement he delivered flowers for over 29 years with Weidig’s Floral in Chardon. He served with the Army during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 6519 in Chardon. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley (nee: Glover); 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his daughters Marcia Cosentino of Syracuse, NY and Barbara Meeks of Chardon; sons James (Mary) of Tallmadge, Richard (Ramona) of Wickliffe, David (Patricia) of Westlake, Norman of Claridon Twp. and Steven (Carol Tamblyn) of Eastlake; grandchildren Zeke, Michael, Zachary, James, Jeffery, David, Mark, Richard, Paul, Stephanie, Sonya, Steven, Christina, Joshua and Elena, who helped care for her grandfather; great grandchildren Christian and Katelyn; sister Virginia Mcluskie of Novi, MI; brothers Richard and Norman (Carolyn) Meeks, both of Grundy County, TN. Graveside services were held Saturday, December 1 in Chardon, Ohio. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN. 

FLYNN, WILLIE, ROGERS, age 78, of Tracy City, went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2012 at the Medical Center of Manchester. She attended Tracy City First United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Patrick S. Flynn; parents Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Rogers; brothers, James Rogers and Charles Rogers; son-in-law Daniel Linder. Survivors include her children Debra Flynn Linder of Altamont, TN and Timothy Michael Flynn of Cottonwood, AZ; brother, Gene Rogers of Altamont; grandchildren, Jessica Linder, Jason Flynn, Heather Flynn, and Devin Flynn. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 5 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Danny Coffelt officiating. Burial was in Coalmont Memorial Cemetery.
