The UT Extension Staff in Grundy County is holding a going away reception for Sarah Malone at the UT Extension Office in Coalmont on Tuesday, May 13 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Ms. Sarah is known as the “4-H Lady” and she will be transferring to Cannon County to take on the 4-H Program and other responsibilities in Woodbury. Sarah and her husband, Andy Malone, are both from Smithville and although the move is bitter-sweet for each of them it will put them closer to their family where they can interact more conveniently.
Sarah Malone started her Extension career in Grundy County as the 4-H Agent on August 1, 2005. Ms. Malone worked diligently to learn more about the program and how she could assist young people in Grundy County to “make the best better” and over the past 8 and one-half years has accomplished those tasks. Sarah has helped organize 4-H Club meetings in all public schools in the county as well as Monteagle Elementary, home school groups, and a few private schools. She has empowered youth to “learn by doing” in areas of public speaking, animal projects, special interest projects, camps, and other activities.
Sarah has certainly been a mentor to the young people in Grundy County and others teaching them the importance of personal and life skills as well as encouraging them to be better citizens through programs and hands-on activities during her tenure here. While serving as the 4-H Extension Agent in Grundy County, Sarah has been recognized for several professional development awards and honors, earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and received a promotion to Extension Agent level II.
Please join us in congratulating Sarah Malone for her service, dedication, and leadership to the 4-H Program and UT Extension in Grundy County on May 13.
Refreshments will be served at the reception and there will also be an opportunity to write a note to Ms. Sarah and wish her well as she moves on to the next journey in her career and has an opportunity to be strengthened by her family.
If you cannot attend the reception but wish to write Ms. Sarah a keepsake note please post a private message on the UT Extension – Grundy County Facebook page or mail it to UT Extension, Attn: S. Malone – Keepsake, PO Box 338, Coalmont, TN 37313, before May 16.
